Everybody has a stash of plastic carrier bags in their home, right? So, we can take them back to the store for their carrier bag recycling bin or we can do something with all those bags loitering about …….
One thing I found kept me busy and produced new items from the carrier bags was making plastic bags from plastic bags. The following photos show some of the bags which I made almost a decade ago, they were all given to Barnardo’s who duly sold them and thus raised money for a very worthwhile cause. I used bits of wool, buttons from the button box, old clothing, etc., to produce the trims on the bags. This was the start of my bag making and it then progressed onwards to making bags from old clothing and fabrics, but more of that later. Please excuse the photography, this was when cameras were still pretty basic!
