Out in the garden …….

Everybody loves having a space outdoors, somewhere to relax in, breathe in fresh air, nurture plant life, right? A garden can take on many forms, from a verandah, to decking, to a courtyard or backyard, right the whole way to a good sized garden, the size of it doesn’t matter, or what’s in it, whether it’s our traditional view of a garden, with lawn and beds or a container garden, what matters is that it’s Your Garden, you created it, you take care of it, you watch it grow.

I live in a block of flats and the outdoor area is a large area of raised decking above street level made of metal grilling, very utilitarian and very uncomfortable to sit on, so after thirteen years I finally decided to change the outdoor space for the better. One of the things that I will be blogging about is the garden which I built and the recycled upcycled furniture in it which I acquired for free, lack of money was the deciding factor in all the choices I had to make. It took me many months, it was a lengthy project, but it was so worth it.

Hardwood garden chair upcycled with cushions made from old textiles/clothing
Hardwood & wrought iron bench taken from the street, repaired, upcycled, cushion made from a duvet cover
Pine table & plastic chairs were freebies on a selling website, cushions from a duvet cover and pillow cases
Small table retrieved from the street, upcycled, repurposed as a plant stand, the one in the background too
